Welcome to The Redback, Alice Springs NT

Ride the Redback for your deam mountain bike holiday...

The Redback is done and dusted for 2016, but that doesn’t mean the memories should be! Don’t forget the blue skies, the sun, red dirt, gritty climbs and speedy descents across some of the best singletrack Australia had to offer in sunny Alice Springs.

To relive the action head to the Facebook albums HERE.

Thanks to all riders who made The Redback 2016 truly awesome, to our sponsors, supporters, fans, families, and friends. You’ve no doubt cleaned the dust off your bikes by now, but that just means they’re ready to get dirty again!

Get back out there, and we’ll see you on the trails soon!

If you’re already gearing up for next year – The Redback will take place from 17 – 20 August 2017.

More information will be coming soon, so stay tuned.

Alice Springs is surrounded by kilometre after kilometre of hand built single track made for mountain bikes by mountain bikers, and this award winning event allows you race the trails with an awesome four day event designed for everyone.

The single track around Alice Springs really has to be ridden to be believed and if you have not been to Alice Springs before you'll be blown away by the quantity and quality of riding, along with the jaw dropping Red Centre landscape.

We’ve designed a race that allows you to ride as much single track as possible whilst keeping the race logistics super simple – stay in the one location all week, no car or support crew needed and we’ll even pick you up at the airport !

So lock it into your diary, grab your mates and join us for the MTB stage race with the easiest race logistics (and the best riding!).

The Redback is the revamped and rebranded version of the event formerly called the Ingkerreke Commercial MTB Enduro. We made a few changes to the event in 2015 to make it even more popualr and accessible including:

  • 4 days and 6 stages racing (rather than 5 days, 7 stages)
  • Event dates that run over the weekend – Thursday to Sunday = less time away from work and family
  • The ability to race either all 6 stages or pick and choose just the ones you want to do
  • Updated stages to include the best of the best trails in the region - the network is constantly growing.

Combine these improvements with the easy race logistics, friendly atmosphere and jaw-dropping trails of the old race and you have an incredible MTB event.

"I've done the event for the last three years and for me it is the perfect opportunity to escape the dreary winter weather and hit up some of the best singletrack in the country. Nothing quite beats the stage race lifestyle....riding, eating, sleeping.....and chilling out by the pool after each stage. It is simply living the dream!!!" James Downing, 3rd overall in 2013 and 2015, event ambassador
