The Ford Rainforest Ride is a mass participation road cycling event (not a race!) with three different rides to suit all types of cyclists all amidst the magnificent Otway Rainforest in and around Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road.
The courses will include a challenging 140km circuit around the Rainforest Circuit along Turtans Track through Lavers Hill, the 70km Lighthouse Discovery Ride to Cape Otway and back again and the tranquil 23km Waterfall Explorer ride to Marriners Falls and back again suitable for families.
All proceeds from the event go directly to Give Where You Live. Serving the community since 1954, GWYL is Geelong’s premier philanthropic organisation dedicated to improving lives in the Geelong region.
Rapid Ascent will again be managing the logistics and customer service sides of the 2013 event.
Once you have booked in for this magnificent ride, please go to the Give Where You Live website to set up your Ford Rainforest Ride Fundraising Page. This time you can personalise your own Fundraising Page and send it onto your family, friends and colleagues to raise vital funds for Give Where You Live.
Online entries to the Ford Rainforest Ride have now closed but you can still enter in person at the event registration desk on the Apollo Bay Foreshore (southern end) on Saturday between 5:00pm and 9:00pm and on Sunday after 7:00am. So it is NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN US for a magical ride in the rainforest.
The official Event Program for the 2013 Ford Rainforest Ride

A smile leapt onto my face the other day when I was looking down the M2M entry list and saw that the Tuesday Night Parma’s had entered M2M for a third year in a row. With this much race cred, and a team name like that, I just had to get in touch and ask them a few questions for the benefit of all of us. Here is their (funny) story…
Riders beware – Australia’s ultimate MTB marathon, the Kona Odyssey, is looking to be set alight by one of the fastest women around come February 16th, 2013.
If you want a beautiful one-way road ride along the Great Ocean Road with a pick up at the far end then here it is.
