It is with pleasure and the utmost honour that we recognise seven competitors who have been with us from the start of the Anaconda Adventure Race series:
The Anaconda Adventure Race International Series all started at Lorne in December 2005 with 917athletes and 336 entries. It has now grown to become a national institution with the world’s biggest adventure race, 3 other events around the country and in 2010 a new event in New Zealand.
Since that first race in Lorne we’ve changed the course a fair bit with a longer swim leg, a changed mountain bike and a completely new run. We’ve also consolidated a few transition areas and brought the Cumberland River TA back to Lorne for a new paddle leg.
We’ve also had 4 different male individual winners (Jody Zerbst, Jarad Kolhar, Ben Allen, Richard Ussher) and 3 different female individual winners (Wendy Wilson, Karla Gilbert and Deanna Blegg x2).Congratulations to the Lorne Honour Board competitors - you deserve full respect from your fellow competitors - we hope you enjoy Lorne 2009!
