Last minute course change for Salomon Trail Running Series at Plenty

(Posted - 28 Jul 2012)

Due to recent rainfall in the last 24hrs the Race Directors of the Salomon Trail Running Series have been forced to change the course for race #2 of The Series at Yellow Gum Park / Plenty Gorge tomorrow.

The original course was to have crossed the Plenty River twice but recent rainfall has resulted in these crossings now being chest deep and with quite a fast flow. In the interests of providing a safe course for all runners, the new courses will not cross the river but complete a lap course on the northern side.

The new courses will still start and finish at the Yellow Gum Park with short course runners completing a single, 6.9km lap through the park, and long course runners completing 2 laps (minus a bit) to end up with a 13.4km course. We believe the new courses are of a similar quality and style to the original courses and are sure all runners will still enjoy them.

As a result of this change THE SHORT COURSE RUNNERS WILL NOW START 15 MINUTES EARLIER AT 9:15am from Yellow Gum Park (rather than the originally intended 9:30am). We are sending a text message to all short course runners to advise you of this change now.

We apologise for these late changes but have worked hard in the last 5 hours to ensure that all runners will still enjoy a scenic course in the Plenty Gorge area. See you tomorrow morning!
