Mountain bike transport update for the Anaconda MTB Enduro

(Posted 13/05/2009)

Just an update for all Anaconda MTB Enduro competitors in terms of mountain bike transport and travel to the event, recently some airlines have changed the allowances for oversize baggage.

One important thing to remember is the weight limit and restrictions on oversized baggage. We would advise all competitors to check with the airline they are travelling with to ensure that you have the required allowances for your mountain bike, to avoid paying excess when you arrive at the airport.

Qantas has recently changed their allowances and now only offers 23kg of luggage and every kilogram over is a $10 charge when you check-in. Tiger also has limits on luggage but these can be avoided by paying extra to carry your MTB before you get to the airport. You can check this online by viewing or changing your booking here .

Another option is to contact Anthony at Velotrans who will be transporting bikes to the event from Melbourne and Sydney. Anthony can be contacted via mobile on 0418 199 961 or www.velotrans.com.au. Velotrans takes the worry out of transporting your bike and will ensure it arrives to and from the event safely.
