Anzac Rivalry at Anaconda Adventure Race - New Zealand
On ANZAC weekend the Anaconda Adventure Race International
Series finds its way across the Tasman to the iconic township
of Waihi. Elite multisport athletes from both sides of the Tasman
will be battling it out for country honours on Saturday 24th
April. In the male division at Waihi experienced multisport
athlete, Cam Durno (Taupo) will be leading the New Zealand

Forster May 1-2 = the finale of the 2009 – 2010 Anaconda Adventure Race International Series
The countdown has commenced in the lead up to the finale of the
2009 – 2010 Anaconda Adventure Race International Series at Forster
in May 1st and 2nd. After an 18 month hiatus from Forster while
we re-aligned the series calendar, it is with great enthusiasm
that we now return to the Great Lakes region for the series finale.

I took some ‘Rapid Ascent medicine'
It was time to take some of my own medicine… You see I often find
myself writing encouraging words when preparing our marketing material.
Things like ‘Go the Distance’, ‘…challenging but rewarding’, ‘…memorable
and enjoyable experience…’, ‘…sense of achievement at having attained
your goals…’ and other confidence giving words to inspire people
to take on the challenge of the event. But not having done a
solid race for a few months, I thought it was time to take some

Anaconda Adventure Race – International Series Points Score Update
The 2009 – 2010 International Adventure Race Series is
nearing completion with two events remaining, Waihi, NZ
this weekend and the finale in Forster, NSW on 1st-2nd May.
For the second time, Rapid Ascent – with thanks to Anaconda
– are putting up a $2000 cash bonus to both the male and female
series winners. The rankings are determined by a points score system
whereby the top 10 individual finishers are awarded 12,

KONA Mawson MTB Marathon Endurance Challenge, Flinders Ranges, SA
The KONA Mawson MTB Marathon held on 8-12 June is shaping
up to be the ultimate Enduro challenge; an epic 350km
marathon that riders can ride non-stop in duo, or in
four set stages when riding solo or in teams of 3 or more.
Everyone finishes at the Fat Tyre Festival in Melrose,
to share the fun, the stories and the coldies with hundreds

Southern Exposure Surf Coast MTB Festival
Southern Exposure received so many requests for a 12 hour solo
and team event, so they have re-jigged the format and now have
a 12 hour MTB event. The 2010 festival format now has 3hr, 6hr
and 12hr events and includes more moon, more track space, more
sweat and more tears.They will have all of the usual facilities
that you would expect. Full moon, showers, toilets, camping,
on site catering, kids’ race and activities, surf beaches,
