Anaconda Adventure Race New Zealand launched
Rapid Ascent is very proud to announce that Australia’s
premier adventure races – the Anaconda Adventure Race Series – have crossed
the Tasman and on Saturday April 24th 2010 will include a new event at
Waihi in the New Zealand North Island.The event’s new website is
at www.AnacondaAdventureRace.co.nz
The Anaconda Adventure Race (AAR) International Series has
unquestionably taken Australia by storm having created the
World's Biggest Adventure Race with the Augusta WA leg of
the series and now it's the Kiwis turn to give it a go with
the same event format being retained for the New Zealand race.

Anaconda Man takes on the One Man Epic
Rapid Ascent’s charity partner, the Burnet Institute,
is teaming up with the former race director of the Western
Australian Anaconda Adventure Race, Tom Smitheringale,
for his ‘One Man Epic’ expedition to the North Pole.
As a dedicated Adventure Racer, climber and now polar
ice explorer, Tom is on a mission to reach the North
Pole solo and unsupported, walking/climbing/swimming

Jason English – 24 Hour Solo MTB World Champion gives his
advice on nutrition for the Otway Odyssey. My nutrition strategy
for the Otway Odyssey:““I use a 3 litre hydration pack with 6
Shotz electrolyte tabs. I don’t use a carbohydrate powder or
sugary sports drink in my hydration pack. I hate stuff growing
in my bladder. I used to rely on sangers and gels during 100km
races but I love the Shotz Energy Gels and have got used
to using them more and can often get by just with them.

Filmed for TV - the 2010 Anaconda Adventure Race in
Augusta is going to be broadcast
Rapid Ascent is very excited to announce that the 2010 Anaconda
Adventure Race at Augusta will be filmed for TV with a 30 minute
television program being and produced about this iconic adventure
sports event on Sunday November 7th, 2010. The Augusta race will
be included as a stand alone episode in a new 13 part Adventure
Sports series being produced and distributed by Eurocam and
will be screened on the free to air channel ONE HD and pay
TV Fox Sports in Australia, as well as six other sports channels
around the world including Eurosport and ESPN.
