Anaconda MTB Enduro set to roll
The Anaconda MTB Enduro - the reincarnation of the old Central Australian Bike Challenge
- is set to rumble over the next week, with more than 200 riders descending on Alice
Springs for this 5 day, 7 stage epic. The men's open field in particular looks
very strong, with (at least) 10 genuine chances to take out the title. Leading the

Kids are ready to rumble for Anaconda Junior Survivor Challenges at the Gold Coast
and a new event at Lorne
The Anaconda Junior Survivor is back again with another off road adventure challenge
designed especially for kids. Proving massively popular in 2006 and 2007, the Gold
Cost Junior Survivor is ready to rumble on Saturday August 9th kicking off at 4:00
pm. The Gold Coast course has been tweaked and twisted from previous years to provide
even more fun and adventure for kids of all shapes and sizes.

Gold Coast Airport Marathon
The Gold Coast Airport Marathon is Australia's fastest, flattest course with a top
elevation of just 15m above sea level. The course winds its way from Southport along
the world-renowned Gold Coast coastline to Miami, passing through Surfers Paradise
and Broadbeach before turning at the 13km mark. The trip home follows the coastline
up along the famous Broadwater in the north (34km) before turning for the homeward
journey.

2008 Paddle Challenge
The 2008 Canoeing Western Australia Paddle Challenge is Perth's Premier Paddling
Event for Avon Descent paddlers. The start/finish is at AP Hinds Reserve Bayswater,
just 500m from the finish of the Avon Descent. It has 3 separate Courses to offer
paddlers of all levels an opportunity to paddle this race and gauge their fitness
level. The Paddle Challenge is also the Official Launch of the 2008 Avon Descent;
entries will be accepted from 12pm on Sunday May 18.

SEASONS MTB flick premiers in Oz
When The Collective burst onto the scene a few years ago with their first mountain
bike film, they redefined the standards. The creativity of this crew spawned a film
that inspired like no MTB film had ever previously. ‘The Collective’
had an ambience and soulfulness that blew minds, and the cinematography and riding
were simply stunning. ‘Roam’, the team’s second film, was equally
well received and now things seem set to make another leap forward with the release
of the third installment ‘SEASONS’.

Painathlon - August 9 Perth 2008
Painathlon was conceived by Notre Dame Medical Student Jonathan Hague in early 2007.
Jonathan is known in Perth fitness circles as 'that nutter who ran Jacobs Ladder
for 24 hours'. This was a world record stair-climbing attempt also for Variety WA
(ultimately unsuccessful at 262 laps and 10 vertical km's). He brings this knowledge
of pain to the Painathlon.

Race Records Crumble at 2008 Bribie Island Multisport
The Bribie Island Multisport in 2008 saw race records crumble as teams and individuals
battled the heat and the elements. Teams ran, swam, paddled and mountain biked over
9 legs in the 100km race last weekend in Queensland. Glen Kirby managed to hold
out former Ironman Guy Andrews to take out the crown as the solo male champion.
The two raced neck and neck until the grueling 9km trail run in the middle of the
race which included an ascent of Wildhorse Mountain.
