Course familiarisation days for Anaconda Lorne Surf CoastThe second Lorne course familiarisation day will be held on Sunday November 19th, 2006. These days allow competitors in the Anaconda Adventure Race at Lorne to check out the course before the race - you can try as many stages of the course as you please. {Click here for more details.}

Rapid Ascent donate $5 of every entry fee to the Burnet Institute, but you can also donate on behalf of your favourite race competitor. Anaconda Adventure Race Lorne - an improved course and stars aplentyThe Anaconda Adventure Race Lorne is only one month away and the field is filling up. Entries close on 26th November, so you'd better get them in soon !
The leading male chances include Caine Eckstein (Coolangatta Gold winner), Simon Thompson (10th Athens Olympic triathlon), Richard Ussher and Gordon Walker (1st and 2nd in the World Championships, NZ), Guy Andrews (winner of Anaconda WA and Gold Coast), young gun and 2nd place getter from Anaconda WA, Keen's Jarad Kohlar and relative newcomer Jeremy Ross who has recently taken out overall honours in both the Australian Multisport Championships at Freycinet Lodge Tasmania, as well as the Upper Murray Challenge. In the women's race, the field includes Christie Sym (winner of Anaconda WA and Gold Coast), Karla Gilbert (7 times surf iron women national champion and 2 times world champion) Trudi Barnes (Commonwealth Games representative from South Africa) and Kim Beckinsale (gun ex-triathlete from Queensland). Scott, we've all been there! Like many adventure racing debutants, Scott's background is running, cycling and triathlon. While Scott is rightfully proud to have completed every City to Surf since 1996, a more accurate portrait is painted by his running the Sydney marathon after a longest training run of 15km, and having completed the Around the Bay in a Day with a solitary 100km training ride.
