Training Sessions

"Paddling sessions on the Gold Coast" Guy Andrews

"A beautiful sunny day greeted us at Tugun Surf Club on Saturday June 3, even if the wintery wind was whipping up the beach at a steady 15 knots. Magellan/Highgear Partners

Most people have heard of Magellan, the world's leading manufacturer of hand held GPS (and the only one in Australia with topo mapping!). But probably fewer people have heard of Highgear, an American outdoor technology company that have just launched into the Australian market. Making a range of navigation, adventure tools and heart rate monitors they feature heaps of funky features like compass, altimeter, barometer and heart rate monitors with options that don't require a chest strap. Great for those who want to experience the great outdoors or others who hate wearing a chest strap, but still want their heart rate reading to train their guts out! Magellan and Highgear, along with Aquapac (100% water, sand and dustproof cases for electronics) are all part of the Anaconda Adventure Race's recommended products.

Be sure to check out their gear at the Outdoor Sports Expo at each race. You may even be lucky enough to score a random prize draw or podium place getter of a Magellan hand held GPS or Highgear adventure heart rate monitor!
