Welcome to Kona Odyssey

Congratulations to all riders in the 2013 Kona Odyssey. It was a tough event held in hot conditions on the day but and we were very happy with how it went and consider it one of the best Odyssey's held. There were no major injuries, people getting lost OR even much rubbish on the course afterwards. So thank you all participants and spectators for making it a terrific event and we look forward to seeing you all again next year. (2014 date tba soon).

Event Video

With thanks to Schwable, Campolina and Landserv here is a 10minute production on the race, the racers and the race track that over 1,800 riders tackled on February 16th as part of the 2013 Kona Odyssey. Thanks to the The Tribe for the production of this terrific event chronicle.

WHAT WILL YOUR ODYSSEY BE?

To win? Top two hundred? To finish? To just survive?

Will you, like our hero Homer, stand atop the Otway Ranges come February 16th, 2013 , muddied but triumphant; a two wheeled warrior, conqueror of 100 kilometres of vertiginous climbs, thick swathes of forest and the odd mud monster clawing out from the ferns?

It’s a story only you will be able to tell after signing up for the Kona Odyssey, a marathon mountain bike journey like no other.

Notably, this year, the biking battlefield has shapeshifted with an ALL NEW MARATHON COURSE that loops Forrest to Forrest, squeezing the most from this mountain biking Mecca's sweet and savoury singletrack.

This is the event that any mountain bike God worth their pedalling powers looks to when they decide to get serious about riding.

The Kona Odyssey.

Ride your way into mountain bike mythology.

Date (tentative)
Sunday April 27th, 2014 (date tbc)
Location Great Otway National Park, South-West Victoria
Format Kona Odyssey 100km - Forrest to Forrest
Kona Shorty 50km - Forrest to Forrest
Kona Pioneer 15km - Forrest to Forrest

And of course, all good warriors back from battle deserve a good feast and festival – so stash the steed and enjoy plenty of food, entertainment, bike displays, live music and kids’ activities at the finish line.

People of earth, the Gods have ordained
An epic adventure of joy and pain:
Cycle the Otways if you try,
The bravest warriors should survive.
