The Anaconda MTB Enduro - Red Centre gives you five days of some of the most awesome mountain biking in Australia along the sweet single tracks and dusty trails of the mighty MacDonnell Ranges around Alice Springs in the red centre of Australia.
The Anaconda MTB Enduro - Red Centre is all about racing some good miles on your bike and then kicking back around the pool with new and old friends afterwards. Its about riding in a truly awesome location, where the tectonic lines of the grand old MacDonnell’s disappear into a distant horizon, with big blue skies, rolling single track and the majesty of the desert. It’s a place that has to be seen to be believed.
- Seven stages of racing over five days, ranging from a 45sec hill sprint in the middle of town to a 90km epic through the majestic Eastern MacDonnell Ranges
- Multi day stage race without multi day logistics – all race days start and finish within rolling distance of Alice Springs, no rental car or support crew necessary (we’ll even pick you up at the airport!)
- Race in the morning then kick back and party on by the pool in the afternoon – yeah baby.
- Choose to stay in the appointed event hotel with negotiated rates and full event centre including bike servicing & cleaning, massage, daily photo slide shows, food, entertainment and nightly presentations
If you thought the outback was full of sand and corrugations you’re wrong, this is single track heaven with endless blue skies and dusty smiles.

[The Anaconda MTB Enduro was formally called The Bullrider until Anaconda kindly took naming rights sponsorship of the event - none of the features of the event have changed. It is also the reincarnation of the Central Australian Bike Challenge that was last held 2 years ago but with many new aspects brought to this old favourite]

The four event Anaconda Adventure Race National Series came to an exciting end today in Lorne, Victoria where Richard Ussher of New Zealand and Christie Sym of Sydney took out the Series wins. As some of you may have noticed, entries for the 2009 Anaconda MTB Enduro (Red Centre) have just opened. Based in and around Alice Springs, Northern Territory, and traversing 300-odd kilometres of largely custom built mountain bike trails, this event should be the first week blocked out of your 2009 calendars. The event runs from May 25th-29th next year and a strict field limit of 250 (which was nearly reached in its rebirth earlier this year !) applies. The 5 day, 7-stage Anaconda MTB Enduro held in Alice Springs each year will be back better than ever in 2009, with the dates being announced as 25th-29th May. For those who raced this year or who have spoken to those who have, the 7 stages are likely to be similar to the fantastic course of the 2008 event. The only changes are likely to be the inclusion of some new single track to avoid any repetition, and a shortening of the longest stage of the race by about 10km. Save yourself money by ... Hot on the heels of a winning performance at Anaconda’s MTB Enduro in Alice Springs Australians Tim Bennett and Adrian Jackson (Team Flight Centre) powered through 7 days of stage racing to snag third place overall in Canada’s BC Bike Race .The pairing were at their absolute blazing best on day two’s fast and undulating 124km stage where they fully opened the taps to take line honors.
